1. Clinical interview will be conducted every Thursday starting 11:00 till 1:00 PM
2. The assigned resident will interview the patient in a timed interview. The proposed time is 45 minutes.
3. Clinical interview seminar aims to teach:
   • Practice and improve interviewing skills
   • Ability to efficiently and smoothly assess patients with full intake of psychiatric history
   • Conduct mental status examination with proper sequence Process and present the case to the tutor and residents using medical knowledge.
   • Formulate the case according to precipitating, predisposing, predisposing factors
   • Discuss possible differential diagnoses
   • Discuss proposed treatment plan
4. Regulations:
   • Instructions to tutors
     • Tutors are expected to start on time.If tutors are on leave, the board director should be informed to arrange an alternative option.
     • If tutors are sick on the date of interview, the session should be postponed and communicated with residents for suitable timing.
     • The tutor is expected to observe the interviewer and give feedback (verbal and written) with respect to time and place.
     • An evaluation form of the interview must be filled in by the tutor while the resident conducting the interview to have best benefit of feedback.
     • The focus of clinical interview in R1 would be interviewing techniques (history and mental status examination) to be a competent psychiatrist.
     • The focus of clinical interview in R2 would be more focused on formulation and detailed treatment plan in addition to the history and mental status examination
   • Instructions to residents
     • Residents are expected to be ready on time.If residents are on leave, the board director (Dr. Ammar) should be informed to arrange an alternative option.If residents are sick on the date of interview, the session should be postponed and communicated with tutors for suitable timing.
   • All residents are expected to accompany the tutor to the ward.
   • The groups are divided into ONE group of R1 and TWO groups of R2.

 Clinical interview schedule – 2024/2025
